Amy Brandt has been the editor in chief of Pointe magazine since 2014, following a 19-year dance career. Originally from Libertyville, IL, she trained at Dancenter North, the Ruth Page Foundation and the Milwaukee Ballet School. Ms. Brandt danced professionally with the Milwaukee Ballet and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, dancing soloist roles in works such as Agon, Divertimento No. 15, La Valse, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, among others. In 2009 she started writing regularly for Pointe, most notably her “Ask Amy” advice column. She later became an associate editor for Dance Magazine and Dance Teacher. Ms. Brandt graduated summa cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College in 2014 with a BA in English and World Literatures, and currently serves on its advisory board.
“Peter Pan, the Ballet” Auditions – Saturday, January 25, 2020; 1:30-2:45 pm.
Open to BGLV Students in the Guild’s Community Division who are enrolled in classes at the Ballet Guild and who will be six years old no later than May 28, 2020.
The performances will be held on Friday, May 29 (10:00 a.m. for school students) and Saturday, May 30 (2:00 p.m. for the public). Rehearsals will begin on February 22, 2020.
The Jazz Classes scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2020 are canceled for this evening only.
The Adult Beginning Ballet class is cancelled for one evening only – Tuesday, November 5, 2019
The make-up class will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the same time schedule, 7:30-8:45 pm

Nutcracker Auditions – at BGLV studios – Sunday, September 15, 2019. $20. Must be registered BGLV students for this current season. Must be age 6 by December 10, 2019. A mandatory parent’s meeting will be held during each audition time.
Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley recently held its annual meeting at which time elections took place for officers and members of the Board of Directors. The officers and their affiliations for the 2019-2020 season are as follows: President, Jennifer L. The Ballet Guild, under the direction of Karen Kroninger Knerr since 2008, is the parent organization of Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Classes are offered from September through May, as well as during a six-week summer intensive program, including a wide variety of community classes for children ages three to adults. Students have the opportunity to perform alongside luminaries in the dance world in PYB’s annual production of The Nutcracker at Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University, as well as in numerous outreach and education programs held throughout the Lehigh Valley during the year.
