Guest Artist to teach in August!

Juan Carlos Penuela will be teaching ballet classes at Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley studios for one week only – August 15 – 19, 2016! Ballet Master of Ballet Hispanico, Instructor at Alvin Ailey School and company, Faculty member of Joffrey Ballet School and Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, Mr. Penuela is a native of Cali, Colombia and has been dancing since he was 12 years old. He has taught master classes as well as summer classes at the Guild, and has performed the role of Herr Drosselmeyer in the PYB production of “The Nutcracker.” We are thrilled to be able to present this series of classes for dancers in the area – both a day intensive for dance students ages 13 & up with at least four years of serious ballet training and an open intermediate class in the evening. Final Week of BGLV Summer Intensives!

Monday, August 1st marks the final week of the Ballet Guild’s Summer Dance Program. There is still room in the day summer intensive classes for serious dancers to enroll and enjoy a week of professional classical ballet training with the best instructors in the area. Kate Kastelnik, Bethlehem native and former Nashville Ballet soloist, will be the week’s guest master teacher, lending her talents and her expertise in ballet and Pilates to our students. Week 4 of the Summer Intensive has begun!

Serious Dancers: Give YOUR dance training the BOOST it needs in the art of CLASSICAL BALLET by enrolling in our Pre-Professional Summer Day Intensive Program! The special Guest Master Teacher on Friday, July 22 will be Deidre Duffin Swindlehurst, Former Soloist at Pennsylvania Ballet; Teacher at Jacob’s Pillow; Faculty at Albany Berkshire Ballet. Week Five (Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29) features Keith Lee, who has had an extensive and impressive career as Soloist at American Ballet Theatre; Choreographer; Balletmaster; Teacher; and Artistic Director. Just 14 days of classes remain, so come and join us – close to home, affordable, intensive, professional!  Students may enroll for the day, the week, or for the remaining weeks of our program. Summer Intensive classes continue at the Ballet Guild studios!

Serious dancers who are interested in Pre-Professional ballet training are welcome to enroll in the day intensives of our Summer Dance Program. This schedule of classes may be just the “kick” your dance training needs! Students may enroll for just a week or two, or for an entire three-week session. Four weeks remain in our summer program, so come and join us – immerse yourself in the world of classical ballet – close to home, affordable, intensive, professional! Because of amazing response to our summer dance program class offerings, we are happy to announce that both the Thursday Pre-Ballet Class (6:00-6:45 pm) and the Introduction to Ballet Class (5:00-6:00 pm) are full. If you wish to add your child’s name to a waiting list, please email the office. We encourage all students to enroll in advance if possible for all of our sessions – don’t miss out on your class choice!
