Celebrating over 50 years

The Nutcracker at Zoellner!

Posted on 12.13.18 in Blog

The Ballet Guild’s 50th Nutcracker production features new costumes and new backdrops, including this living room, complete with portraits of Alexi Ramov and Marjorie Berlin Fink painted on the wall – look closely! Magnificent artistry by Carl Sprague, concept by BGLV Artistic Director Karen Kroninger Knerr. This wonderful production is accompanied by a full orchestra, the Southside Sinfonietta, conducted by Eugene Albulescu, the BGLV Music Director. Student choirs lend their voices to the lovely Snow Scene.  https://www.bglv.org/performances/

The new costumes by Kristin Dundon include a new “Mother Ginger” (photo below) as created by the wizards of Scaramouche, Mark & Bob. She spins and moves so effortlessly on stage!

We hope you have a chance to experience this most gorgeous creation of sight and sound – everyone who has worked on this production – dancers, guest dancers, artists, volunteers, staff, board members, directors, crew – have all given their time, talents, and their heartful souls to this marvelous 50th anniversary production of the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley and its Pennsylvania Youth Ballet!
