Summer Dance Program – Week 6 (last chance!)

Posted on 7.27.15 in Blog

There is still time for all serious dance students, ages 9 & up, to study with us during our final week of the Pre-Professional Summer Dance Program! Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to hone YOUR ballet skills.

Ballet Guild is thrilled to welcome Tim Fox to our studio this week as Master Teacher instructing students in the Pre-Professional summer intensive day program. Dancer, Choreographer, Actor, Pilates Instructor, Teacher – Mr. Fox’s avocations reflect his passion with, and his success in, the arts. He began his dance studies in Tulsa, Oklahoma and continued at the School of American Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre School, both in New York City. A corps de ballet member with the New York City Ballet, he danced leading roles under the direction of dance greats George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Peter Martins. He was invited to join the San Francisco Ballet as Soloist by the director, Helgi Thomasson, and was promoted to Principal dancer within a  year. After retiring from San Francisco Ballet, he pursued an acting career and received roles in motion pictures and national commercials; he also taught Pilates and operated his own fitness studio for many years while in Los Angeles. He has taught at many of the finest dance institutions in the country and currently serves as dance instructor at Goucher College and Maryland Youth Ballet. You can read much more about Mr. Fox by downloading his bio sheet here: Tim Fox Information Sheet

The Ballet Guild’s unique event, “Meet the Artist,” will take place on Thursday July 30, 12:30-1:00 pm. Students and their parents/guardians are invited to our third floor studios at that time to meet Mr. Fox and to learn more about his dance and teaching career. A question and answer session will follow. Join us!
